I thoroughly enjoy my experience every time. Reminds me of NYC's Irish pubs in the East village.... casual friendly atmosphere that serves hearty food & pouring a large selection of Irish beers-my fav is Guinness, also full bar & a great selection of wines.
Irish music - by the fireplace.
A full Irish & American menu - offering yummy bangers and mash , juicy burgers & steaks, tasty wings & Ruben sandwiches , i wanna try the Irish breakfast next.
Adding to the Irish atmosphere are wooden tables, wooden chairs &wood panel walls. they have TV screens, indoor bar & a second bar. An outdoor courtyard- great for private events !
HAPPY HOUR from 3pm - 6pm..
This was my first ever visit to this restaurant. My mom and I went for dinner after I saw what great reviews the restaurant had. Our waiter was Bernardo and he was great! He was super attentive and friendly. The food was perfect! Everything tasted great, and the portions were huge. I brought home leftovers. We arrived in time for happy hour, so we got one of the half priced appetizers. We got the chips with spinach and artichoke dip. It was so flavorful amd nice and hot. My mom had the potato and leek soup for her entrée. I tried a bite, and it had a really nice flavor. I had the cottage pie as my entrée. The flavor was great, and the potatoes were nice and had some cheese baked on top. For dessert we had the bread pudding. So delicious! And the fresh whipped cream was very tasty. There was even live music when we went. That made for a fun atmosphere. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the San Antonio area.
I had a wonderful lunch one day at the Cottage, the food and service was very good.
This time we went to happy hour, it was a Friday. I was surprised. Good prices on happy hour drinks and appetizers. 3-6pm are happy hours times. The pub started getting crowed around 5pm. After happy hour live Irish music started. It was enjoyable and entertaining !
This was our first time there. We were greeted with a genuine smile and got sat promptly. The order was taken and delivered very timely. We ordered water since we had just left the movies, and we were sugared out. Our wonderful server kept our water full consistently. we drink a lot of water, and having our glass full is always a sign of superb service.
The Fish and Chips go without saying a nice classic, big portion, enough to take some of it home. The Bangers plate was a nice and hearty meal that it makes you think of mom's home cooking. I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked to my temperature liking, nice and tender. I briefly read through the sides, so when I got the plate I REALLY was loving the rice so much that I was trying to figure out what kind of rice I was eating so I could cook it at home. They came back and confirmed that I was eating cauliflower rice. One would never know if I didn't ask. It was wonderful.
Our server was amazing, truly amazing, a gem, nice manners, attentive, intuitive, funny, timely, and kept our drinks filled at all times. The place was very cozy and roomy with lots of options to choose from for different sceneries. Each room is uniquely decorated.
We have been here several times and my husband and I love this place! Amazing food and service. They also have live music on Friday and Saturday nights which is amazing! One of my favorite restaurants!
Pub grub is not my go to food, luckily The Cottage Pub was more than just grub. The Guinness stew was flavorful, the ale did not overpower. The chicken curry - Irish/ Indian fusion? Well, yes and it works. Staff is spread thin, so service may vary but was cheerful all the same. Nice Happy Hour drinks
I had a bartender Anton who was awesome and very accommodating. Didn’t have to ask for anything was awesome. Food came out and was amazing, had the fish n chips and some appts on the happy
Hour menu. Sadly he had to leave as they were switching over to next shift. Horrible horrible service. The bar was dead and there were two bartenders. None of them wanted to serve me another drink. Busy busy with hardly any customers on a Christmas Eve. I didn’t get it, my cup was empty for 20 minutes. When I finally tried to order the bartender Diego pretended he was hard of hearing, I repeated myself three times and just said never mind. I heard people call him Diego so I assume that’s his name. The older chap with an accent wouldn’t even look at me. I’m assuming cause they don’t care too much for gays at the bar. I was there to drink and watch the game. Screw this bar this was a horrible experience. I don’t care how good the food is, you don’t want to serve me then eff you guys.
Probably not my cup of tea since it's a pub for the most part and I don't drink. But I did see it on a loop local food show and thought I'd give it a try. Everybody was friendly enough through my dining experience. The funny thing was I had one person coming to take my drink order I had another person take my food order and I had another person actually bring me my food. Bicycle location right off Broadway. Good selection on the menu. Large bar with seating and lots of choices for your favorite drink. I have the cheeseburger with fries. The burger was pretty good the fries not so much. They were really limp and look like they've been cooking oil grease. So they weren't very tasty. Too bad band had set up in the back and it just started playing as I was leaving. Certainly I encourage you to give it a try yourself and make your own decisions. I'll probably be back to try something different on the menu but not on a Saturday night when it's really more of the party atmosphere.
